Ancient Mayans Digitized
Our project aims to develop an interactive digital experience of the Ancient Mayan world. We will be utilizing the Popol Vuh, a legend of ancient Mayan mythology, to connect the sacred dieties and important characters within the Mayan spiritual world to the temples, pottery, art, and other relics which depict those characters, in order to create an interactive learning experience on the the world of the ancient Maya.
Our project will utilize data on major archaeological sites in the Mesoamerican region of the Yucatan and Mayan Lowlands to create a timeline, an interactive map, data visualizations, and 3D models of some of the most fascinating discoveries from the Mayan civilization.
